Impacts of climate change & population growth on child health in Sub-Saharan Africa
Over ⅓ of all births (> 5 billion, a 285% increase from the same period to 2024) to 2100 will be in this region. Here, infant and child mortality is highest, > 30% of all children are currently undernourished, 21 of the world’s 26 low-income countries are found, the impacts of climate change will be greatest, and there are the fewest resources to cope with changes.
